Wayne D. Clark, Staunton,
Virginia, Jr. Past Grand Worthy President, of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and
Chairman of the Board of Grand Trustees.
Wayne joined Elliott’s Knob Aerie No. 680, in his hometown of Staunton in 1968.
He has held all local and state offices and served as Mid-Atlantic Regional
President. He then advanced to the Grand Aerie and served as Grand Worthy Inside
Guard, Grand Worthy Conductor, Grand Worthy Chaplain, served four years as Grand
Trustee, Grand Worthy Vice-President and then as Grand Worthy President-Elect
before becoming Grand Worthy President.
Wayne was appointed by two Grand Worthy Presidents to head up the National New
Aerie Committee by virtue of his efforts in organizing, instituting and
counseling twelve new Aeries.
In 1995, the state of Virginia honored him by inducting him into the Virginia
State Hall of Fame. The same year he was awarded Virginia’s Meritorious Service
Award for his continuous efforts in furthering the cause of Eagledom.
A devoted and zealous ritualist, he chaired or served on the State Aerie Ritual
Committee for over ten years and for four years assisted in the floor work of
the Virginia State Aerie Champion Team. His goal is to one day compete on the
Grand Aerie level as a “shot gun” ritualist .
Wayne continues to serve on a myriad of committees on the local and state level,
as well as trouble shooting assignments for the Grand Aerie. His hobby is
collecting anything to do with the Eagles, especially F.O.E. antiquity.
Wayne is married to Past Grand Madam President, Bettie. Together they have five
children and seven grandchildren.
